About the RoleYou will step into a key role in a highly automated production environment where paint processes, robotics, and stable line performance are critical to the overall flow. Working close to operations, you will act as the technical expert within paint automation and help secure safe, efficient, and reliable automated processes.
This is a hands-on role with a strong development focus. You will improve existing automation solutions, support industrialization work, and contribute to the transition toward a more advanced and automated factory environment. You will also work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering to solve issues, strengthen automation capabilities, and create lasting improvements. This role is especially interesting if you enjoy combining daily operational impact with long-term technical development in a complex industrial setting.
Job Description- You will provide day-to-day support within paint automation and help keep production running with stable and efficient automated processes.
- You will take ownership of automation activities in your area and contribute to broader automation initiatives across the factory.
- You will drive and participate in cross-functional problem-solving for automation-related disturbances and ensure root cause analysis is carried out.
- You will monitor line performance and support production in prioritization to secure an efficient production flow.
- You will specify, manage, and implement changes to existing paint automation equipment and support the introduction of new or modified automation solutions.
- You will participate in concept studies and industrialization projects connected to automation and production development.
- You will develop, maintain, and optimize paint automation programs with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- You will support line balancing and flow optimization across the production process.
- You will lead or coordinate smaller activities or teams when needed and contribute by coaching colleagues and sharing technical expertise.
- You will help ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and internal requirements for automation cells.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of automated production systems and industrial automation.
- Experience from manufacturing environments.
- Experience in robot programming and automation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation, process, and mechanical issues in complex environments.
- Structured problem-solving skills and a strong analytical approach to root cause analysis.
- Good understanding of safety standards for automated systems and paint environments.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience from highly automated production and paint processes.
- Practical experience from automated paint shops, especially wet paint applications in serial production.
- Experience with ABB IRB 5500 paint robots.
- Knowledge of multi-layer paint processes such as primer and topcoat.
- Understanding of high-pressure 2K paint systems.
- Experience with paint equipment such as spray guns, pumps, dosing systems, and flushing systems.
- Experience working in ATEX-classified environments.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and components.
- Experience optimizing paint processes, including coverage, thickness, efficiency, and surface quality.
- Ability to identify and resolve paint quality issues such as orange peel, runs, overspray, and uneven thickness.
- Swedish is an advantage.
