10% of Europe’s CO₂ emissions are caused by residential heating and energy bills are out of control. Aira is here to change that.

With our intelligent Aira Heat Pump at the heart, we’re making the switch to clean energy-tech easier and more affordable. Helping Europe turn off gas and slashing energy costs one home at a time.

Founded in 2022, and with 1200+ employees and counting, Aira is driving the clean energy revolution by providing homes with modern clean energy-tech solutions such as solar power, battery storage solutions and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland, and HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, and hubs across the UK, Germany and Italy, Aira is well on track to install clean energy-tech into 5 million homes by 2034.

About the role

As a Full-Stack Engineer in our Survey & Design team, you'll help build the products that support some of the most important steps in Aira's customer acquisition journey.

The team is responsible for the tools used to capture and manage information about our customers' homes, supporting everything from home surveys and technical assessments to installation design. These products help ensure that the right information is available throughout the process, enabling tailored and efficient clean energy solutions.

You'll join a small, autonomous product team and work closely with product managers, designers and engineers to solve real-world challenges and build scalable solutions that support Aira's continued growth across Europe. As a Full-Stack Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the products and services that power these workflows. You'll work across the stack to build scalable solutions and great user experiences.

In this role, you will

  • Design and build applications and services that support users across multiple European markets

  • Develop scalable APIs and integrations with third-party systems

  • Process and manage data collected throughout the Survey & Design journey

  • Transform complex technical and geometric data into solutions that support our products and workflows

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and the long-term evolution of the platform

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers and end users to improve workflows, user experiences and product capabilities

  • Explore new technologies and approaches that help solve real business problems

We're making home energy design smarter, simpler and more scalable. If you enjoy building great products and solving complex problems in a technically challenging domain, this role is for you.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Around 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

  • Experience building modern software applications across different parts of the stack

  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot

  • Experience designing and building APIs

  • A solid understanding of databases, software architecture and distributed systems

  • Experience working with microservices

  • The ability to turn ideas into clean, testable and scalable software

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

We believe you'll thrive in this role if you're curious, analytical and enjoy understanding the real-world challenges behind the software you build. You don't need a background in engineering, but an interest in technical domains and complex problem-solving will help you succeed.

We're also looking for someone who enjoys learning new technologies and is curious about how emerging technologies, including AI, can create value for both products and ways of working.

Our tech stack

Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, gRPC, Kotlin, Python, React, TypeScript, Next.js, Kubernetes and Docker.

What is in it for you?

  • Join a mission-driven company accelerating the transition to clean energy across Europe

  • Work on products that have a direct impact on how clean energy solutions are designed and delivered

  • Be part of a small, highly autonomous team with significant influence on product and technical decisions

  • Collaborate with talented colleagues across product, engineering and operations

  • Grow professionally in a fast-moving and international environment

  • Enjoy our brand-new office at Norra Stationsgatan 93 in Stockholm. Conveniently located near public transport, with Sankt Eriksplan and Odenplan stations just a few minutes walk away.

At Aira, we champion next-generation energy as well as diversity and inclusion.
