Configuration Manager

In a software-driven automotive environment, configuration management is key to keeping software always releasable, high quality, and fully traceable. You will join a team that shapes how software and data flow across Engineering, with a focus on Configuration Management strategies, governance, and automation connected to the CI/CD chain.

The role covers both strategic and hands-on work. You will help define and improve cross-organizational ways of working for software development, including master baselines, branching strategy, traceability, Change Management, compliance documentation for SUMS, and structures for document storage. You will also support engineering teams in applying these ways of working in practice. What makes this role especially interesting is the opportunity to influence a modern software factory where speed, quality, and traceability are all business-critical.

• You will lead Configuration Management work in a large engineering organization.

• You will drive and improve processes for software Configuration Management and the SW Master Baseline.

• You will shape cross-organizational branching strategy and governance for software development.

• You will develop and strengthen software traceability strategies across teams and delivery flows.

• You will contribute to Change Management processes and help make them practical and scalable.

• You will work with compliance documentation for SUMS and support related application development.

• You will improve automation within the Configuration Management area, including checks connected to the CI flow chain.

• You will translate business needs into operational requirements for IT systems, including within the PLM area.

• You will support engineering teams with guidance in Configuration Management-related questions and help stakeholders understand complex requirements.

• Documented experience within the Configuration Management domain.

• Experience handling software traceability in large projects.

• Experience with version handling processes and practical experience with Git.

• Experience handling Change Management processes.

• Experience capturing business needs and translating them into operational requirements for IT systems.

• Experience working with automation.

• Knowledge of requirement management processes.

• Knowledge of technical documentation standards and processes.

• Experience breaking down business needs into requirements for IT systems within the PLM area.

• Experience working with branching strategies in larger projects.

• Ability to work in new technical areas and explain complex information in a clear and understandable way.

• Strong focus on quality assurance, structure, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to complete the background checks required for a sensitive assignment.

• Experience from the automotive industry.

• Knowledge of tools and environments such as Gerrit, KDP, CarWeaver, CoMo, Artifactory, ConfigHub, and TC-PLM.

• Knowledge of product structures in Teamcenter, KDP, or ConfigHub.

• Understanding of Change Order management, Product Configuration, and product or release handling in automotive development.

• Understanding of how process and tool changes affect engineers in their daily work.
