Job description: Let's introduce ourselvesADAS Sensing Platform – Continuous Integration & Test Automation
At Volvo Cars, our Continuous Integration (CI) environment is a critical enabler for delivering high-quality software across complex ADAS systems. We continuously integrate software from multiple teams, sensors, and domains, ensuring that our systems behave correctly across all levels—from unit to complete vehicle. To achieve this, we rely on robust CI pipelines, strong test strategies, and high levels of automation, combined with the ability to analyse, triage, and resolve issues quickly.A key principle in our way of working is maintaining an always releasable (green) master branch, where every change is validated before integration and continuously verified after integration. We are now strengthening our CI capability and are looking for engineers to take end-to-end responsibility for maintaining CI health, driving ADAS test strategies, and ensuring stable and reliable integration flows.
What you'll doCI Health & Master Stability• Own and maintain a green (fault-free) master branch, ensuring it remains always releasable• Monitor CI pipelines and act proactively on failures and instability• Ensure no degrading or breaking changes are introduced into the integration flow• Drive visibility of CI health, quality status, and risks across teams
Pre-Merge Testing/Quality Gates + Post-Merge System validation
· Enforce pre-merge test gating strategies · Ensure all changes are validated before merge through: o Component tests o Integration and CI gate tests · Drive strong post-merge verification flows, including: o Baseline qualification o Extended system validation
ADAS Test Strategy Support · Maintain and support evolving test strategies for ADAS sensors and systems with focus on exterior cameras: others include DMS, Radars, Ultrasonic Sensors o Ensure alignment between requirements & test coverage
Test Automation & CI Pipeline Development · Develop, maintain, and improve automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines · Ensure automated tests: o Run continuously o Act as quality gates for integration
Failure Analysis & Triage · Monitor CI execution and analyze failures across pipelines · Perform root cause analysis, categorizing issues into: o Product defects o Test issues o Environment issues · Create and manage fault reports and support rapid resolution
What you'll bringProfessional Experience • Experience working with CI/CD, test automation, or system/integration testing is beneficial • Familiarity with complex software systems (e.g., ADAS or automotive environments) is a plus • Understanding of software integration flows and quality gates is valued
Technical Proficiency • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Zuul, or GitLab • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Python, Robot Framework, pytest) • Understanding of system-level and integration testing approaches • Exposure to log analysis and debugging within API-based systems • Knowledge of sensor-based systems and validation methods is an advantage (ADAS experience is a plus)
Ways of Working (Soft Skills) • Analytical and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving • Comfortable collaborating across teams and working in a distributed environment • Ability to communicate clearly and in a structured way • A curious and improvement-focused mindset • Ability to balance speed, quality, and stability in a complex setting
